Services

Surveys & inspections

Every attendance follows a defined scope agreed before boarding. Findings are recorded against the applicable convention or class requirement, photographed, and graded so the reader can act on them without a second visit.

SVC-CS

Condition surveys

Hull, machinery, deck equipment, accommodation and safety systems assessed and graded, with a clear statement of the vessel's overall condition and maintenance standard.

SVC-PP

Pre-purchase inspections

Independent attendance for prospective buyers, including class and certificate review, tank and hold access where available, and an estimate of near-term repair exposure.

SVC-OH

On-hire / off-hire

Bunker quantity, condition and photographic record at delivery and redelivery, so charter disputes start from agreed facts.

SVC-AU

ISM · ISPS · MLC audits

Internal and third-party audits of safety management, ship security and maritime labour compliance, with non-conformities and corrective actions tracked to closure.

SVC-VT

Vetting readiness

Pre-vetting inspections modelled on SIRE 2.0 and OVID practice, giving masters and managers an honest view before the oil major's inspector arrives.

SVC-NA

Navigational audits

Bridge team practice, passage planning, ECDIS use and BRM observed underway or at anchor against company procedures and STCW requirements.

SVC-DM

Damage & incident surveys

Prompt attendance after contact, grounding, heavy weather or machinery failure to establish extent, likely cause and a reasonable repair scope.

SVC-OF

Offshore vessel inspections

AHTS, PSV, crew boats, tugs and support craft inspected to OVMSA expectations and OCIMF OVID format, including DP and towing equipment.

SVC-CG

Cargo & draft surveys

Draft and displacement calculations, hold cleanliness and hatch cover weathertightness checks before loading.

Transaction advisory

Buying or selling a vessel

A sale and purchase is decided on paper long before the memorandum of agreement is signed. We give buyers a factual basis for price and terms, and give sellers a ready vessel with nothing left for the buyer's surveyor to discover.

For buyers

Pre-purchase

  • Physical inspection and class records review
  • Statutory certificate and survey status check
  • Port State Control and vetting history review
  • Estimated repair and dry-dock exposure
  • Advice on price adjustment and delivery conditions

For sellers

Pre-sale

  • Readiness inspection before marketing the vessel
  • Rectification list ranked by effect on value
  • Document pack prepared for buyer's inspection
  • Attendance during the buyer's survey
  • Delivery and handover condition record

How an engagement runs

  1. Scope & particulars

You share the vessel name, IMO number, location and timing. We confirm scope, access and fees in writing.

  2. Document review

Class status, certificates, PSC records and maintenance history are checked before anyone boards.

  3. Attendance on board

A qualified surveyor inspects the vessel, interviews the crew and records findings with photographs.

  4. Report & debrief

A graded written report follows, with a call to walk you through findings and their commercial effect.

Scope

Vessels & frameworks

Our surveyors are mariners and auditors who have served in command and held lead-auditor qualifications. Work is carried out against the conventions and industry schemes your counterparties already recognise.

Independent

We have no interest in the vessel, the yard or the deal. The report says what the surveyor found.

Written by mariners

Findings come from people who have run ships, so the report separates what matters from what is cosmetic.

Fast turnaround

Short-notice attendance where possible, with preliminary findings shared on the day of inspection.
